Here, Paula studies the lives of three women and their interaction with on man, Charles Lyndhurst, a wealthy shipowner. The lives of Louisa, Sylvia and Elizabeth consume Paula as they all seem very familiar to her. She knows these people so, so well. Paula’s own life is on-hold for a time.

She has worked in many places, i e an English pub in London UK, an embassy in Washington DC, a fish factory in Iceland and as a nurse in Brisbane and in Melbourne, Australia. She has toured Europe, USA, Australia, cities in Asia and climbed to the Kings Chamber in Egypt's Giza Pyramid.
