A Christie classic, adapted for stage. 10 people have been invited to an island by various inducements. The parlor fireplace mantle is decorated with a Sampler displaying the nursery rhyme "Ten Little Indians". Clustered along the side of the sampler are 10 china figurines.

When the guests have gathered in the parlor they learn the host and hostess have been delayed AND THEN the gramophone breaks in accusing each member of the party, of the crime of a specific murder. Now, as the minutes and hours pass bodies begin to appear all following the nursery rhyme of "Ten Little Indians".

I read the play of And Then There Were None from the collection The Mousetrap and other plays. Thank goodness the play was only 70 pages long. For me the stage directions were just too distracting, they interrupted the flow of the narrative and the pacing of the mystery. I am simply too much of a reader, enjoying the movement of my own imagination to the laid out directions in a play or script. ( )
