YA fiction where main male character was scottish and called female character lass

Hi sorry, I was reading another book and this sparked a vague memory of a book with a male scottish character who was always calling the female lass. I think a vague quote might have been something like ya don't have to worry about me lass or don't have to be scared of me lass. I think would have to be before 2014 but not 100 percent sure
