On the Series screen in the link below, sort by publication date. I came across a book on the list that has an invalid publication year. The year is 1602 rather than 2016. Can this be changed? I tried all the options under edit series.

If you go to the work page, you can enter the correct date in the "Original publication date" field in Common Knowledge.

>2 lilithcat: I did that for the book edition that I have in my library and placed 2016 in there. It was blank. Does it take time to propagate through the system? When I go to the Editions link, there are several editions for this book. I am guessing that one of them is wrong.

It is cached, so could take 1-3 days to update last time it happened to me.
ETA: the CK field isn't restricted to YEAR only, if you know the exact date it should be entered. I entered the exact date, there was no need to undo that and put it back to just 2016. I've put the exact date back in the orig pub date.
"Dates
Dates should be formatted in the ISO-standard format: YYYY-MM-DD
The format can be shortened in the case of unknown data: 2007-01 or merely 2007" - https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Common_Knowledge

Thanks! I even tried removing the book from the series and adding it back in but no change.

The Original Publication Date is a Common Knowledge field with the work record. It's not the field in the book record

>6 jjwilson61: That's correct. That's also how Tim said you're supposed to fix wonky (due to bad data/typos) series order by pub date. See https://www.librarything.com/topic/321038#7190514

It has been a few days since I changed the Common Knowledge date but the series publication year has not changed. I changed it from blank to 2016. Now I look at it from the link in the series and it is 2016-04-05 which I would think should still be correct.

>8 bumblesby: Then you should report it as a bug. Where it's pulling that transposed 2016 from is anyone's guess. Don't hold your breath on a fix though.
