Putting in Cd's and Blurays

Can you catalog cd's and blurays in a separate collection in LT?
Also why do I never get a cover image when I try?

Yes.

Because LT doesn't have cover images for them. You can upload one if you want.

Yes. I do something like that.

I don't know. I add these using "Amazon.com all media" and I get cover images.

I have 136 DVDs and Blu-Rays in my "Videos" collection, all of which have cover images, and I didn't raise a finger to get those images (beyond adding the videos using "Amazon.com all media" as the source).

For books, if you didn't upload or select a cover image, they're drawn from Amazon.com based on the ISBN. I believe for CDs and other media from Amazon they're drawn based on the ASIN number instead - since you only get this if you add via Amazon and it isn't editable, the only way to get automatic covers would be to add from Amazon.

For what it's worth, I used Discogs for a lot of my CD cover images. I had to Google or scan a few - mostly promos or where the correct cover was really poor quality. The vinyl was a bit more hit-and-miss; there were a lot of gaps on Amazon even with LPs. I had to photograph some of those.
