I requested this book with my 14 year old grandson in mind. I started with a bit of a disadvantage as I had not read the first book. It took me a few chapters but I did clue into the story line. It is a swashbuckling, adventuring story with magic and violence at times. It was paced well but a bit long for my tween at almost 400 pages. The ending left the door open for the final book in the trilogy. This is an exciting book for tweens. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review. Protagonist Callan is given that "wise beyond his years" vibe, and speaks more like an experienced adult, not an uneducated, raised on the streets 14 year-old. It's good for tweens who enjoy lengthy books (391 pages, Part 1 was over 400) with an easy enough storyline and characters. This, in my opinion, is more of a higher middle grade read, not young adult. I entered to win both books for my LFL (Little Free Library). This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This was a good book. My son read the first one and was excited to get into the second. It was nicely written and grabbed the readers attention. Picking up where the first book left off, "Seekers of the Fox" follows Callan and his gang of teenage thieves as they embark on a dangerous quest to find the Dragon's Teeth, a pair of powerful swords that are key to fulfilling their bargain with the Eye, a sinister, sentient artifact they stole in the first book.As they journey across dangerous terrain and face a host of obstacles, Callan and his friends must rely on their skills and each other in order to succeed. Along the way, they uncover secrets about the Eye and its true purpose, and discover that their quest is tied to the ancient rivalry between the spirit animals of Fox and Bear. Filled with adventure, danger, and intrigue, "Seekers of the Fox" is a thrilling and satisfying continuation of the series. The vivid descriptions and well-developed characters will keep readers engaged from start to finish, and the final twist will leave them eagerly anticipating the next installment. Overall, "Seekers of the Fox" is a must-read for fans of the series and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted fantasy adventure. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. A fun adventure but not as engaging as the first one, tbh. It was all a bit predictable and I find Callan a boring character (for someone with his past, he's surprisingly well-adjusted). The pacing is good and the world-building solid. The ending is, unsurprisingly, set up for a sequel as the Dragoneye continues to pursue its own agenda.I received a free copy of this book from the publisher for review. no reviews | add a review
