The end made me sob so hard. Review coming soon! For me, the most refreshing thing about this 'fantasy' was its environment. I really enjoyed the buildup, but in the end didn't necessarily This book was so beyond the ordinary that I had a hard time even talking about it. Reading it felt like being exposed to the searing heat of the desert with no water, but the experience left me feeling humbled and clean. The author, Nnedi Okorafor, is a magician with words, a weaver of spells, a master of showing real people doing extraordinary things while staying real. This book is truly remarkable. I have never had a book introduce me to so much that is absolutely new and unknown to me. It is a fantasy about a spiritual journey filled with terror and hope, yet sadly, it is grounded in world that exists in Africa today. no reviews | add a review
