( ) I love a good McDermid murder / police procedural. Tony Hill Book 5 It's been a while since I've had the chance to catch up with Carol Jordan and Tony Hill, the main characters in one of Val McDermid's ongoing series. They're just as broken and fascinating as ever and Mcdermid's style is fast-paced and engrossing. The title of the book is not as cryptic as it first appears. The book starts with a quote about healing beginning beneath the bleeding. Many of the characters are healing well after the events in the previous books. Some characters new to the storyline need to be seen more than just on the surface and other characters you want to smack upside the head and tell them to look beyond themselves. This book was my first introduction to Val McDermid and I have read it multiple times. A good read. no reviews | add a review
