I didn't like this as much as some of the others in this series. The ending seemed a bit forced and improbable. Rollins continues to be at the forefront of writing thrillers integrating real science and historical mysteries. In his newest novel, a comet threatens the future of Earth (think of the movie Armageddon), fueled by dark energy. Meanwhile, the pontiff's librarian Virgo and his carabinieri niece Rachel are lured into investigating a skull sent by a supposedly dead priest. The Sigma force team, led by Gray Pierce and his assassin lover, Seichan, battle through triad wars in Hong Kong and a North Korean kidnapping to meet their friends in Mongolia, where the secrets of Genghis Khan have to be located to avert a cataclysm. Is it the end of the world? A satellite crashes in Mongolia and a comet seems to be honing in on the Earth as well. Scientists, spies, adventurers and crime lords get involved in the chase to find the wealth of Genghis Khan and perhaps the answer to looming disaster. What a heart wrenching ending..... no reviews | add a review
